Marshal-President Dewiga of Lingor

Co-Op

Situation

Marshal-President Dewiga of Lingor has hired Theseus on a very expensive short-notice contract to eliminate a familiar gang of organized poachers. Theseus last encountered these well-equipped wildlife hunters in the Okavango Delta of Botswana, shooting endangered animals. This time, it seems that they have gone after Marshal-President Dewiga's overstocked personal hunting preserve in and around his birthplace of Los Pelligron.

The poaching gang has terrorized local residents and driven them from the area, and has taken proactive steps to ensure that they are not interfered with by blocking major routes into the AO. Marshal-President Dewiga has hired Theseus as a specialist force to deal with the poachers without the extreme bloodshed that is likely to result from sending in his poorly trained conscript army.

Objectives

Marshal-President Dewiga of Lingor has charged us with destroying the poachers' heavy equipment to prevent them from escaping. It is not necessary to kill all enemy for mission success; Dewiga has implied that he prefers that his hunting preserve's losses to be stocked with what he describes as 'the most dangerous game.' Dewiga has also offered a bonus for specifically clearing all poachers from Los Pelligron, his childhood home.

Poacher bases can likely be attacked from the air, but command has charged Theseus with confirming the destruction of each camp's assets. A ground presence will be required for confirming destruction.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
  • Destroy all 3 poachers' camps.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES
  • Clear Los Pelligron of all hostiles.

The organized poaching gang is one that Theseus has encountered before in Okavango Delta. They are equipped, as in our previous encounter, with civilian weapons suitable for taking game, and carry no anti-vehicle weapons. They do not wear armor but are adept at camouflage. Unlike in the Okavango Delta, there were no reports of armed vehicles. Instead, all vehicles reported were flatbed trucks.

There were four major routes into the AO before the poachers got to it. A northern approach via a road through the village of Morada has been reported cut off by a mudslide triggered by the poachers' explosives. One of two Southern approaches, through the village of Aguado, has been cut off by a barricade consisting of most of the villagers' vehicles and their fishing boats, which are still on fire. All that remains are two ways in: a road through Montehofo and a ford through the Pantano Swamp.

Command has provided two sets of vehicles: unarmed Arcadians and armed Polaris DAGORs. The Montehofo road can be used with Arcadians, while it is strongly recommended that the Pantano Swamp ford only be approached using DAGORs due to the rough terrain. The DAGORs are heavily armed, with machine guns including thermal sights, but offer no crew protection. Arcadians have highly effective crew protection, but under sustained fire can still be damaged by the high-powered rifles carried by the enemy. An armed AW159 Wildcat has also been provided; this has some armor but will be vulnerable to ground fire, and should be directed towards scout roles.

The poaching gang made sure to terrorize all residents of the area and force them to flee. It is certain that they have a presence in Los Pelligron and the village of Barro. In terms of where their camps are located this time, command believes that they are all located along roads due to the ruggedness of the terrain, but not all roads are marked on our available maps. Several dirt tracks go deeper into the jungle slopes.

After action report:

Theseus was hired to destroy the camp sites of poachers on a hunting preserve. Ares 1 and 2 split up to cover more ground across the preserve and linked back up to assault the town of Los Pelligron before splitting back up to find the rest of the camp sites. Most of the preserve and periphery regions were searched and all three camp sites were found and destroyed. 3 Contractors KIA
