Situation

Our first contract this mission is to secure a base in the interior. For over a year, an undercover associate of our employers known as 'JL' has been establishing himself as an equal-opportunity smuggler and at a clandestine airstrip deep in the N'Ziwasogo jungle operated by freelance arms dealers from Vanguard PMC. This operative will break cover and aid us in our takeover of the main airstrip building upon our arrival.

In order to take over the airstrip, we will have to defeat both local militia patrols and the existing, heavily armed force of smugglers. Fortunately, the airstrip location itself is still kept a secret from the militia, but the Vanguard PMC group will have a heavy presence in the area.

Although there are a few available airborne insertion LZs, given the heavy hostile presence in the AO, helicopter insertion is both too vulnerable and too overt. Consequently, our employers have provided aircraft and equipment for a night-time HALO drop insertion into the AO.

Friendly Forces
  • Theseus Inc.
INDEPENDENT FORCES
  • TKP Insurgents
Enemy Forces
  • PPF Militia
  • Vanguard PMC

Objectives

Theseus is to perform a night-time HALO drop and rally at the DZ. Our employer's local allies have laid IR strobes to designate the cleared area suitable for landing.

Once contractors have assembled, Theseus contractors are to advance to the clandestine airfield at the marked map location, destroying any enemy resistance encountered along the way.

The plan for operative 'JL' is that he will take over the hangar and bar the doors to hostile forces until friendly forces reach the area and it is pacified.

Primary Objective(s)
  • HALO insert and rally at the designated DZ
  • Travel to the covert airfield
  • Destroy guarding Vanguard PMC forces until operative 'JL' judges it safe enough to open the hangar
Secondary Objective
  • Don't die (Optional)

  • Est. Time Frame: 2 Hours

  • Our employers have designated a DZ in the interior and TKP insurgents have planted IR strobes to provide a visual reference. These strobes have been confirmed by aerial recon.
  • HALO insertion will take place with a jump at 4.5 km followed by parachute deployment at 900m, which should give us plenty of time to guide on the LZ. Flares, chemlights, strobes, or other devices can be used to rally once landed.
  • Expect some unavoidable injuries from landing; contractors should avoid spilling air from their chutes near the ground.
  • The clandestine airstrip consists of a large area of cleared ground with a prefabricated hangar at the South end. It features two manned HESCO observation towers and two bunkers with HMGs at the hangar, but no other fortifications. Expect the fortifications and airstrip to be directly guarded along with smaller outlying patrols that are likely to converge on the hangar area once alerted. Vanguard PMC forces are near-peer infantry using modern small arms with night fighting equipment and armor.
  • TKP insurgents are not likely to have a strong presence in the AO, as they have been driven from the area. PPF militia fighters have been reportedly patrolling the area after several of their leaders went into conference with 'JL' several hours ago. Refer to campaign ASCOPE for faction visual references and capabilities.
