Situation

Following a government offensive, coastal towns have been re-secured. Government reinforcements have been arriving, and the majority of the CDF units have concentrated their forces on retaining control of the coastal towns and ports along the key rail line from Chernogorsk to the Russian border. NChDKZ forces continue to contest the interior of South Zagoria.

The CDF believes that after their initial assault and the subsequent retreat, the conventional formations of the NChDKZ have been depleted and that a more counterinsurgency-oriented strategy can be adopted. It has undertaken a strategy of placing fortified strongpoints in the interior from which to project power.

Our activities on behalf of the Bank of Chernarus have not gone unnoticed. Theseus has been officially brought on board with the Chernarusian government operation, serving as an independent command. Our mandate is to provide heavy logistics capability and direct action infantry capabilities suited to counterinsurgency. We are assigned to one of the combat outposts in the area along with regular CDF troops.

FRIENDLY FORCES
  • Theseus Inc.
INDEPENDENT FORCES
  • Chernarus Defence Forces (CDF)
ENEMY FORCES
  • New Chernarusian Movement of the Red Star (NChDKZ)

Objectives

Theseus contractors are to form a heavy convoy to travel to Combat Outpost (COP) 'Svoboda' near the town of Gvozdno through territory contested by NChDKZ forces, where they will join a CDF air defence platoon and understrength engineering company for further operations.

Just prior to Theseus' arrival in our initial staging area, the convoy with the CDF's air defence platoon's heavy equipment was ambushed en route to the COP, where they were forced to abandon a ZSU-23-4 armored vehicle after its engine was damaged. As the Theseus equipment includes an armored recovery vehicle, Theseus is further instructed to recover the ZSU-23-4 and tow the vehicle to COP Svoboda and its crew.

  • Recover the CDF ZSU-23-4 and bring it to COP Svoboda

The NChKDZ, continue to contest the entire interior of South Zagoria including both major regional airstrips and all towns. Though NChDKZ forces control the airstrips, they do not have any functional warplanes. CDF and NChKDZ forces continue to skirmish along the line of control.

Combat Outpost (COP) 'Svoboda' is located near the town of Gvozdno. It has been constructed over the past week and is the closest CDF COP to the Russian border.

The ZSU-23-4 was reportedly abandoned en route to COP Svoboda near the town of Gorka. The CDF liason reports that the engine and fuel tank was damaged, but that other systems are still intact. The crew pulled the firing pins of the guns before leaving so that NChDKZ forces could not use them.

Our employers' forces in COP Svoboda are there mainly to provide defensive capabilities. No CDF forces in the COP will be able to support us during this operation unless enemies appear immediately outside of the outpost itself.
