Situation

The tactical situation has significantly changed. In addition to our recent raid's reduction in PPF militia mobility, the last three munitions flights had several crates of anti-tank mines. TKP insurgents have gleefully mined all roads around Kedougou, effectively shutting down the enemy ability to use vehicles to traverse the countryside. The Kedougou suburbs are more heavily garrisoned than ever, but our allies now rule the hinterlands.

Further analysis of our captured intel has revealed key information on the movements and whereabouts of major PPF militia figures. One opportunity has revealed itself in the form of a PPF warlord that doesn't appear to ever leave his villa.

The reclusive warlord Msolu Umbambe is an arms dealer and major figure in the PPF's co-opting of the local government. After an attempt on his life shortly after the PPF takeover, he became a recluse, holing up in a heavily guarded compound in the Kedougou suburb Vumba and holding all meetings via teleconference.

Our employers think that it's high time Umbambe had an extended interview. He will be making his trip alongside our newest employer liason, a characteristically unhinged man who is also trans-shipping a set of questionably legal munitions.

Due to the mining of the roads, any vehicles used near Kedougou will have to be used cross-country. As Arcadians are unsuited to rough ground, local jeeps have been provided for that purpose, but are not expected to be used in combat.

Where crossing roads is necessary, TKP fighters have set up safe crossings that will allow us to avoid mines. The relevant crossing for this mission is marked at 697-146 and lightly manned by friendly TKP fighters.

Vumba is a small suburb of Kedougou to its southeast. The town is fronted to the north by large agricultural fields. Umbambe's villa is a distinctive building on the town's western edge at 521-130. It is close enough to Kedougou that we can expect some enemy QRF to arrive on foot from the larger town, but it is likely to be significantly delayed compared to the faster vehicle-borne QRF seen earlier in the campaign.

Umbambe's personal bodyguard is a platoon-sized force that uses modern body armor and updated arms. It operates close to the warlord himself at all times and will be directly guarding his villa. All other forces in the area are militia.

Warlord Umbambe should be easy to recognize due to his insistence on wearing full suits even in tropical heat.

Refer to campaign ASCOPE for information on PPF militia and TKP insurgent units.
