Gun Runners V2

Situation

After successfully getting their hands on something better than broken hand-me-downs and zip guns, TKP forces are hot for revenge. They've let us know that their first action is a night-time raid on the most isolated PPF stronghold, located at Bissou, a small urban center several kilometers north of the main Kedougou-Forecahira corridor.

This is an excellent opportunity to capture intelligence that may further our mission in N'Ziwasogo. The grateful TKP leaders have been happy to share details with us and have even suggested ways to help their attack.

In other news, our employer liason has again been replaced with no explanation, this time with a man wearing Takistani clothing who arrived with a gigantic crate of machine guns. As before, command has emphasized that contact with our employers is an essential part of this campaign and that their agents are to be treated with all courtesy.

Objectives

We are to aid and follow along with the insurgent raid on Bissou and search for actionable intelligence - found in phones, tablets, laptops, and other electronics - during the chaos. The insurgents have let us know that we can greatly aid their attack by blowing up a mobile phone signal tower outside the town to delay reinforcements, which will signal the attack. Two buildings have been pointed out to us as militia centers that are likely to contain the information we are searching for.

TKP insurgents have made it clear that they fear being caught in an extended firefight and plan on withdrawing once they've hit the town's garrison. We will be attacking at the same time, but they may leave before we are done. In that case, we will need to defeat any reinforcements that arrive.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
  • Destroy the mobile phone tower outside of Bissou
  • Capture the high school and government center in Bissou, and search them for actionable intelligence.

TKP insurgents have designated a rally point for us to rendezvous with our allies before proceeding onto the attack area. Once there, we can immediately proceed to destroying the mobile phone signal tower. Since PPF militia depend partially on mobile phone connections for communication, this will hopefully delay major reinforcements long enough for us to extract without incident.

Two buildings have been highlighted to us by TKP scouts. One of them is an old high school that has since been taken over by militia and used as an administrative center. The other is a three-story hospital building nextdoor, which has been repurposed as a militia billet and armory. A rough map has been provided to us by the insurgency. Expect many locked doors in these locations.

The TKP insurgents are our allies for this mission and are in position to hit the southwest of the town, awaiting the destruction of the tower as their signal to begin their final movements. Their attacking force is approximately 1 platoon strong. As our target buildings are in the northeast part of town, there will hopefully be minimal overlap.

Bissora hosts approximately two platoons of PPF militia including armed light vehicles. There may be isolated patrols along the roads and interior, but based on their lack of night vision capability and urban origins indicating lack of fieldcraft, no major night-time forces from the PPF should be encountered except at Bissora. PPF militia looks, arms, and capabilities remain unchanged; refer to the campaign ASCOPE for further notes and visual references.

Thanks to our efforts, TKP insurgents are now carrying small arms in the M16 family as well as RPGs and FN Minimis. For this mission, they have agreed to exclusively use yellow tracer ammunition to allow for easier IFF. Otherwise, their looks and capabilities remain unchanged from the campaign ASCOPE.
