Smash and Grab
Chernarusian Defence Forces (CDF)
Situation
Over the past few days, regular CDF and Theseus patrols from COP Svoboda have encountered groups of NChDKZ trying to run through the perimeter from East to West. In addition, NChDKZ have attempted several pitched assaults that were quickly repelled with a judicious application of 23mm from the CDF air defence platoon in our fortifications.
This morning Theseus' CDF liason showed us signals intercepts that explain the heavy contact. It seems that COP Svoboda has cut off what is a key supply corridor from the coast near the Russian border, supplying not ordnance or gear but cash and marketable drugs. CDF intelligence believes that the money for this has come from covert shipping into a narrow channel near the Russian-Chernarusian border, outside of the coastal area of control - and that tonight a delivery is due.
Foreign monetary backing has long been suspected as a possible explanation for NChDKZ supply. Despite the NChDKZ relying on Russian gear, the Russian government has eagerly aided PMCs in closing the border and their involvement is not suspected. High end NChDKZ equipment appears to have been either legitimately purchased or bought on the black market, and subsequently smuggled. Payment system sanctions have been ineffective in cutting off the supply of money. Now we know why and how they've been getting their revenue.
The CDF want us to clear the heavily defended supply corridor and appropriate the ill-gotten gains. If we succeed in cutting off their financial backing, the CDF reckon the NChDKZ war effort will collapse.
FRIENDLY FORCES
- Theseus Inc.
- Chernarussian Defence Forces (CDF)
ENEMY FORCES
- New Chernarusian Movement of the Red Star (NChDKZ)
Objectives
Theseus is to clear out the NChDKZ supply trail in the South Zagorian border forest and capture or destroy enemy revenue sources from the clandestine port. CDF intelligence suggests that these revenue sources include cash and drugs, suggesting that the former be collected and the latter destroyed.
The trail is known to contain at least 2 strongpoints on or around the main route. These are optional targets and can be bypassed, but the CDF intend to pay a bonus if they are also destroyed.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
- Capture the smuggling cove at the end of the NChDKZ supply trail, 'liberating' cash and destroying drugs
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES
- Destroy all NChDKZ strongpoints along the trail.

The NChKDZ supply trail is positioned to link seaborne drop-offs to the rest of South Zagoria while bypassing CDF-controlled ports. The construction of COP Svoboda and its cutting off of the trail exit has obviously not gone unnoticed by the NChDKZ guarding it. Though whoever remains there is likely isolated from the main NChKDZ body, we should expect a substantial force of infantry prepared for intruders.
Fortunately for Theseus, the terrain is heavily forested and so there will be no armoreded vehicles in use in the forest itself; however, we should expect some strongpoints along the way. NChDKZ have been reported have used some four-wheeled all-terrain vehicles for cargo transport before COP Svoboda's construction, and some may be available for repurposing to leave the AO, though none have been spotted in the past week.
Command has provided an ASP-1 Kir integrally silenced .50 caliber point man rifle to aid Theseus' assault.
Weather is expected to be cloudy this evening. Due to the season and latitude, mission start at 1730 will be in full sun but light conditions will rapidly deteriorate to full night by 1830.
