Doctor Ng

Situation

After the success of our last operation and the unfortunate passing of the members of Spike Team Dakota, we've been hired by MACV-SOG to assist with other operations in the hot zones off of the eastern coast of Vietnam as US Forces are beginning to initiate their exit from the region.

One high-value target in particular has been slipping through the grasp of all SOG teams sent after them, the mysterious Doctor Ng, a biological researcher working for the Northern Vietnamese government. Rumors on the intel grapevine say he's been kidnapping Southern Vietnamese soldiers to use them as test subjects in strange experiments, and he is heavily guarded by a force of VPN Marines.

A small fireteam, comprised of highly-trained Southern Vietnamese SOG troops, was sent in to infiltrate a reported area that the Doctor was spotted in, but they did not return. A garbled message was sent out by the apparent lone survivor, Giang Duong, and was triangulated to an area north of Ca Can in the archipelago. His message mentioned a complex network of underground passageways.

Objectives

We've been tasked with finding the Doctor's location in the archipelago, eliminating him and other enemy contacts we encounter, and rescuing Giang Duong. The Doctor's location will likely be very well-hidden amongst the islands, so keep your eyes peeled. If we manage to find any research notes or other materials, we should also bring those back to base.

• Since the last operation ended with 40mm smoke round embedded in a US Army soldier's skull, we've had our air requisition taken away for the time being, and more MPs have been posted around our current encampment to keep a watch on us. Behave yourselves.
• Because of the vertical nature of the islands located in the highlighted area, we might find the Doctor's base and tunnel network located somewhere high up. Be on the lookout for stairs and concrete, as portions of this area were apparently part of an old French naval base.
