Situation

Our overall objective is to retake the AFRF-occupied areas with help from the local militia and CDF and push them out of the region, while making it appear completely like a local operation.

After the region is secured and back under control of the people and local government, then direct talks with NATO can proceed, as well as providing troops for security of the region without NATO having taken any direct action and starting a major world conflict.

Objectives

We'll be attacking the Northwestern Airfield under the cover of night. The enemy has night-fighting equipment, as we do, but we believe we'll catch them off-balance by advancing at a time they won’t expect, since they don't know we have our night-fighting gear.

Our main goal here is to eliminate all enemy forces within the Airfield and disable or destroy any manned vehicles but leave unmanned vehicles intact so local forces can utilize them for their own defense. At this time of night, most of their heavy equipment (tanks, IFVs, etc.) will be unmanned, and we can use that to our advantage, possibly even by procuring one of these vehicles for our use if needed.

Intelligence

  • Some CDF and Militia troops attempted to scout out the Airfield for us but came under some suppressed gunfire. We need to watch out for Russian troops carrying suppressed weapons.

  • We need to maintain our disguises AT ALL TIMES, DURING THIS SERIES OF CONTRACTS. We'll return the uniforms and redress ourselves accordingly before we extract from the region, after completing our overall objective.

After action report: 

Theseus went under cover of darkness to assault the Russian controlled airfield. Insertion went smooth until mid-defense setup, a patrolling MBT came right on location. We were heavily pinned down losing our AT to a bruise. Two direct hits with disposables proved not enough to disable this foe. Calling for backup from Ares 1 further North, two rounds were seen skimming across in an attempt to arouse the tanks aggro on to them but to no avail. Through a last minute effort, one sole medical hero grabbed a launcher from the ground and with a "Tally Ho," disabled the MBT not but meters from our position.

Continuing on with our plan, teams proceeded to clear both sides of the Airfield slowly converging back into a more cohesive full unit and moving North striking down enemies. At one point, Ares 1 commandeered an enemy MBT to battle head-to-head with a BTR. Coming out victorious, the rest of the Airfield and it's checkpoints, were shortly cleared and secured of all enemy hostiles.

Theseus was able to capture and procure enemy armor and vehicles to return to FOB and relieve to the CDF for further bolstering of their forces in this fight. This included:

1x T90 MBT

1x BMP

1x Vodnik

One contractor was KIA and may he forever be remembered in the battles to come.
